Ultimate Rider Training

Compulsory Basic Training - CBT

The CBT consists of 5 Elements.

A. Introduction
Our CBT Training starts in the comfort of our dedicated training room.
Experienced trainers guide you step by step through the first of the five elements.

B. Practical on-site training
Getting to know the Machine. What does what.

C. Practical on-site riding
This detailed stage introduces you to all basic aspects of bike handling. Designed to take complete beginners or riders with basic skills to a safe competent level of machine control before venturing out on to the road. Each exercise must be satisfactorily completed before moving on to the next.

D. Practical on-road training
Good knowledge of the highway code is essential!

E. Practical on-road riding
Our ratio of instructors to candidates is 1:2 - which insures that you are given the personal attention so critical in getting the right start.
Absolute minimum 2 Hour On Road Ride (In constant radio contact with your Instructor) At 16 you are limited to a 49cc machine 17 or over limited to 125cc (not exceeding 14.6bhp)

Direct Access - Module 1 & 2

With the Direct Access Scheme (DAS) you will undergo On/Off Road training with no more than a 2:1 Instructor ratio on road training you to test standard. Once you have passed Modules 1 & 2 you are free to choose and ride the machine that best suits you, irrespective of engine capacity or power.

Advice on which machine is best for you is always on hand. Our course is built entirely around you. We structure our courses to suit your needs. If you have no riding experience we suggest an initial 5 day course to attain a pass at Module 1Followed by a further 1-2 days to attain a Module 2 pass.

Our pricing structure means you can spread your training and cost over a period that suits you. We provide a detailed training diary with input from both you and us which allows both parties to keep track of your progress. At Ultimate Rider Training we pride ourselves on an excellent minor fault record. We don't just train you to pass your test, we teach you to RIDE !!!

We use Suzuki GS500 and Triumph Bonneville bikes for our training courses Suzuki GS500 Triumph Bonneville

The test must be taken on a motorcycle with a power output of at least 35kW ( 46.6 bhp ).

Before taking the DAS course you will have had to completed your CBT and have passed the Theory Test, even if you have a full car license.

Restricted Access

Yamaha YBR 125cc For riders aged 17+

1. A standard motorcycle licence (category A) will restrict you for a period of two years to riding machines with a power output not exceeding 25 kW and a power/weight ratio not exceeding 0.16 kW/kg. After the two year period you may ride any motorcycle.

2. For students not qualifying for the Direct Access Scheme or wanting to ride a lesser capacity machine

Before taking the standard motorcycle test modules 1c& 2 as above you will have had to satisfactorily completed your CBT and have passed the Theory Test, even if you have a full car license.
